Dali is built in Java, and is base don open standards (RSS, XML). The CMS runs on top of different
application servers, e.g. the freeware application server of Sun.

Stability and scaleability
The DaliCMS is built with Java EE technology, and operates within a Java EE application server. This technology has proven its value in industrial environments that demand reliable, scalable (also over more than one machine) solutions. Moreover the application server offers failover support.
Cross browser support
Webpages that are made with DaliCMS are compatible with most frequently used browsers.
Multi-language support
DaliCMS offers support for the use of multiple languages on one site.
Version control
Different versions of an information item can be kept. Rollback to older versions is possible within the CMS administration interface.
Search engine optimization
The information in the CMS can be exported as static pages. These pages are optimized for indexing by search engines.
Permission-management
° Different roles are possible: contributor, publisher, administrator
° Different user scan be assigned different roles, and haver permission on different parts of the website.
Import from / export to different formats
° RSS export is possible via all information channels (feeds) in the CMS.
° The webmaster of the site can include RSS feeds in pages, add new RSS feeds of modify existing ones.
° External content in different formats can be incorporated on the site via scripts (e.g. crawlers, screenscrapers, ...)
Specific modules
° Calendar module: integration with Sun JES Calendar
° Poll module for polling visitors with the aid of custom-defined forms
° News-module: allows for the management and publication of news items on the site. The
news can be exported in RSS format, so that user scan subscribe themselves on the RSS
feeds.
° Mailinglist-modules: allows for the creation and management of news letters. The news items can consist of texts and/or images. The administrator of the CMS system can provide them with a layout. Users can subscribe and unsubscribe to newsletters. Information on registered users is kept in a relational database, and can be administered by the CMS-administrator.
Each item can be exported as a static webpage for direct reference via URL.

Integration with other platforms
Web 2.0 ready: easy integration with Flickr, blogsites (Blogger, ...), each external RSS feed, Google Maps, Google search
Integration with community-tools
DaliCMS is a modular platform, that besides of classical CMS functionality is integrated with community-related functionality like news, mailing, calendar, cms, messages, users, forum, blog and chat.
The modules are all base don the same Dali Core Functionality, which makes them very compatible. Users, data and permission levels are shared over the entire platform.
Integration with Document Management
DaliCMS is integrated with Alfresco (open source professional Document Management system)
Multi-Channel
The information in DaliCMS can be exported in XML format. On this data transformations can be applied to convert the data in a different format – e.g. a format that can be used for dissemination of the content to different platforms like mobile devices or ID-TV.
Webhosting
LodgON has a broad experience with the hosting of web-based projects on shared or dedicated servers. LodgON cooperates with multiple stable partners and has built in redundancy in the infrastructure. Software maintenance is done entirely in house. LodgON has no exclusive partnerships with hosting providers, and if needed the infrastructure can be relocated to a provider of choice.
